DinkReel films your pickleball games and turns them into highlight clips and reels. Your recordings, clips, and everything DinkReel makes from them stay on your iPhone. DinkReel has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party SDKs that collect data. We do not collect, transmit, or sell any personal data.
What DinkReel accesses (all on-device)
- Camera and microphone — to film your games and to hear the ball strikes and cheers that the app uses to find and rank rallies. Used only while you are recording.
- Photo library (add only) — to save the clips and reels you export, when you choose to. DinkReel can add photos and videos; it cannot read or browse your library.
On-device speech recognition
If you turn on the voice feature in Settings, DinkReel transcribes short moments of your game audio to catch shouted marks and score calls. This runs through Apple's speech recognizer with on-device recognition required — the audio is processed on your iPhone and is never uploaded to Apple or to us. The feature is off until you enable it, and DinkReel only asks for speech permission when you turn it on.
Diagnostics (crashes and hangs)
DinkReel uses Apple's MetricKit to help fix crashes and slow moments. After an incident, iOS delivers a diagnostic report to the app on your device (usually on the next launch). DinkReel writes a short summary to a local log file on your iPhone only — it is not sent anywhere. This is separate from Apple's own Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements → Share iPhone Analytics setting, which you control and which governs what Apple collects.
Purchases
DinkReel Pro is a one-time purchase processed by Apple through the App Store. Apple handles payment; DinkReel never sees your payment details. Your first 3 highlight reels are free; the count is stored on your device — it does not create an account or send anything to us.
What we collect
Nothing. There are no accounts, no analytics, no ads, no tracking, and no third-party SDKs. All video work — trimming, rally detection, reel building, watermarking, and speech recognition — happens locally on your iPhone.
Deleting your data
Your recordings live on your device. To remove them, delete individual games inside DinkReel (swipe to delete on the home screen), or delete the app to remove everything DinkReel stored.
Children
DinkReel is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any data from children (or anyone else).
